Job Title: Programs Coordinator
Location: Imagination Station 600 N 4th St, Lafayette, IN 47901

Part-time position: 20-25 hours weekly

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Reports To: Office Manager/Supervisor

PROGRAM COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Plan STEAM-related activities and education programs for families

• Write a STEAM-focused curriculum 

• Coordinate camp logistics

• Plan various special events throughout the year

• Plan and help with demonstrations during birthdays and field trips

• Manage the gift store orders and Inventory

• Open and close the building and get it ready for the public

• Supervise student employees and volunteers

• Interact with visitors at the front desk and explain the exhibits

• Participate in outreach activities in the community

• Manage the Cash register and help with visitor statistics

• Manage the record of sales for the gift shop and memberships

• Connect with sales reps for gift shop products, experiment supplies, and education materials

• Stock gift shop shelves and track inventory

• Be part of a team environment to help run Imagination Station

• Coordinate field trip logistics with schools and local groups

• Serve as the point person on field trip days and run all activities/experiments

 

 

REQUIREMENTS and SKILLS

 

• Excellent Organization and Time Management Skills. 

• Ability to Problem Solve

• Ability to speak in front of large groups of people and foster audience engagement

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Proficiency in MS Office 

• Comfortable working with children

• Outgoing, articulate personality. 

• Working Knowledge of office equipment and procedures

• Must be able to pass a background check. 

• Must work weekends as needed

• Ability to stand for prolonged periods

• Able to walk on concrete floors & up/down flights of stairs

• Able to lift 20 pounds for event setup

• Comfortable working with chemicals required in demonstrations

• Morning and evening hours required

• Bachelor’s/Associate’s Degree in an Education-related program preferred

• High School Diploma/GED required

• The candidate must be willing to pass a background check
